posting the finished b&w concept designs for the Chinese fairytale project that I've been working on. these two designs are for Niulang (cow herder, the mortal) and Zhinu (weaver girl, goddess from the heavens). they're characters from a very ancient and well-known
chinese love story.
i really want a top with gold embroidered dragons like the one that ZhiNu has...

Wow Wendy, these drawings are incredible! You have improved so much in the last year! They are so professional. You can definitely make a living through your art.
(Hey, look, I finally remembered my Blogger password. :D)
Wow, these are really beautiful. The tones are so subtle and smooth, and the poses are so realistic and natural-looking. You're really talented. :D
Heh, I remember reading the story of Tanabata when that Mia/Diego Tanabata snapshot came out; this story is similar, isn't it?
digifaith -> thank you so much; you're too sweet. ;__; I could say the same to you, of your writing ability! <3
and yes - Tanabata is a Japanese festival that is based off the Chinese "Qi Xi" (Night of the Sevens), so the backstory is the same. It's a favorite love story among the Chinese, because it's so beautiful and tragic... and I'm kinda a sucker for things like that, what can I say. :D I think it suits Mia/Diego very well, now that I think about it!
